Not-too-Spicy Bean Dip CrockPot Recipe

Day 40.

I love me some bean dip. So do my kids.

We like the bean song too.

This was our Super Duper Tuesday Watch-The-Votes-Roll-In Snack. It was terribly easy and all of us were super duper pleased.

The Ingredients:

--can of refried beans
--3 T of taco sauce (good use for all those taco bell sauces you're saving for no reason)
--shredded cheddar cheese

The Directions:

--open can. this was the hardest part because our can opener is acting wonky and only works at a certain angle
--dump into a mini crockpot, or a heat-resistant dish inside of a large crockpot
--add taco sauce
--smash beans down with a fork and mix in taco sauce
--sprinkle on a handful of shredded cheddar cheese

cook on high for 1 hr, low for 3.

serve with flax seed chips because then it's considered a healthy dinner.

  6. I am now wondering if the backstock of the old scent crocks that my FIL has at our warehouse could be used for this purpose...They are brand new and haven't been used for anything yet! Although somewhere on the box it probably says "NOT SAFE FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION"

  10. I'm planning to make this for a playdate tomorrow.. I don't suppose there's any reason why I shouldn't be able to substitute the taco sauce for regular ol' salsa is there? Should be okay, right?

Btw, absolutely love your blog. I've made several of the recipes!

  11. sounds a lot like mine ~ but, I add a little light sour cream and light cream cheese ~ just to keep it healthy, of course! Gives it a great, creamy texture!
