Slow Cooking equals Slow Living
Happy New Year, Slow Cookerers!!
I hope you enjoyed your New Year festivities ---- I most certainly did.
We just got back from a trip to Disneyland, and it was fantastic.
also, I unplugged myself for a few weeks -- which means that I'm TERRIBLY BEHIND in answering emails.
The kids go back to school tomorrow, so I'm easing back into work this week --- If you have emailed me and it's an urgent question, please email me again so it gets bumped back up in the inbox!
Unplugging was good for me.
I am looking forward to doing more of that.
2018 marks the 10th Year Anniversary of the Year of Slow Cooking website.
and that is nuts.
;-)
If you haven't ever read my very first post from way back in December 2007 leading into the Year, here it is.
A lot has happened since I wrote those words.
I:
and?
:-)
Speaking of Instant Pot --- I have been working on a new book. It's not quite ready yet, but I promise that you will be the first to know when you can snatch a copy.
I've teamed up with Bob Warden and we have created the first cookbook that has "translated" your favorite Slow Cooked and Pressure Cooked recipes -- so you can choose how to cook, depending on how much time you have.
Here is a sneak peek of the cover...
I think you're really going to like it!
In the mean time, I hope your brand new year is off to a good start!
This year I'm going to focus on Going S.L.O.W.
I've crammed in an awful lot these past few years and while I wouldn't change any bit of it, I really want to breathe deep, cherish, and embrace it all.
How about you?
are you up for a bit of Slow Living sprinkled in here and there in the year to come?
lots and lots of love to you and Happy Slow Cooking!!
cheers to the best year ever, steph
I love the concept of your new book. I noticed that the cover didn't mention traditional stove top pressure cookers. I'm guessing they are not included? It's so hard to find good recipes for them since the electric ones took off 😕
ReplyDeleteHi AJ, great question. You are right that practically all of the newer cookbooks are for electric pressure cookers. That said, I'd HIGHLY suggest getting one of Bob's cookbooks.
ReplyDeleteI teamed up with him because he really is "the pressure cooker king" and I didn't want to reinvent a wheel he already perfected. ;-)
I really like his Slow Food Fast book and in the intro he talks about the differences between the stovetop and electric cookers.
I hope this helps a bit!! Happy New Year!
Thanks for the suggestion!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, my favorite pic of you!! I’ve been around since partway through your year of crockpotting and I think your new cookbook idea sounds awesome! In fact, I’m making meatballs tonight and heading over to your recipe so I don’t end up with a pile of mush. :)

So when will we be able tore-order this? It's the perfect idea!
